...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM PST FRIDAY...  * SYNOPSIS: A LARGE NORTHWEST SWELL PASSING THROUGH THE ISLAND GAPS IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE HIGH SURF ALONG THE SOUTH SAN DIEGO COUNTY COAST DURING THIS PERIOD.  * WAVES AND SURF: SAN MATEO POINT TO DEL MAR...3 TO 6 FEET. DEL MAR TO LA JOLLA...4 TO 7 FEET. LA JOLLA TO POINT LOMA...5 TO 9 FEET. SOUTH OF POINT LOMA...4 TO 7 FEET.  * TIDES: HIGH TIDE THURSDAY AROUND 1030 AM PST AT 5.7 FEET. LOW TIDE THURSDAY NEAR 600 PM PST AT MINUS 0.2 FEET. HIGH TIDE FRIDAY AROUND 1120 AM PST AT 5 FEET.  * IMPACTS: JETTIES...THE OCEAN BEACH PIER...AND OTHER LOW LYING COASTAL STRUCTURES MAY BE WASHED OVER BY THE LARGER WAVES AROUND THE TIMES OF HIGH TIDE. THE ENTRANCE TO MISSION BAY MAY ALSO BE CLOSED THIS AFTERNOON AROUND THE TIME OF LOW TIDE DUE TO BREAKING WAVES. RIP CURRENTS WILL BE VERY STRONG. WAVES WASHING UP ONTO THE BEACH MAY SUDDENLY OVERTAKE BEACH VISITORS UNAWARE.  PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...  A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT BEACHES IN THE ADVISORY AREA...PRODUCING RIP CURRENTS AND LOCALIZED BEACH EROSION.
